Project Background

Home Southbank is the flagship property in the Home Fund’s Australian “Build to Rent” portfolio.

Located at 256-260 City Road, Southbank, Melbourne, the property has four-hundred and six apartments, many of which feature spectacular skyline views of the City of Melbourne.

With close proximity to the Crown Entertainment Complex, the Southbank Waterfront Precinct, retail facilities and an abundance of other lifestyle and convenience associated amenities, Home Southbank has a lot to offer.

This project was developed by Home which owns, develops, and operates each of its properties.

The project’s construction was managed by ICON Construction which is one of Australia and New Zealand’s largest construction providers with a range of current and previously managed projects ranging from $0.5 million to $400 million in size.

Satu Bumi’s Involvement

Satu Bumi was engaged directly by ICON Construction to manufacture and supply a range of sixty-six large custom GRC (Glass Fibre Reinforced Concrete) planters, twenty-five GRC benches, twelve-hundred and fifty-nine GRC wall panelling strips, and five GRC bar-b que panel sets for the fifth and ninth floors of the building.

This was a highly bespoke project that showcased Satu Bumi’s ability to manufacture very large GRC planters and GRC wall panelling with timber textured finishes as well as GRC benches and GRC bar-b-ques for the outside social spaces on two levels of the building.

All the GRC products were manufactured with high commercial grade GRC using Satu Bumi's CityScape technology with both natural grey timber-textured and smooth concrete finishes.
