Project Background

UniLodge Melbourne City is a modern 50-storey purpose-built student accommodation property located at 480 Elizabeth Street in the heart of Melbourne.

Being located close to major universities and RMIT (Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology), and with easy access to public transport, this project not only provides excellent quality but also conveniently located student accommodation.

UniLodge Melbourne City supports a quality student lifestyle with proximity to entertainment, places to eat, and state of the art facilities that are ideal for both studying and socialising. In addition, UniLodge has a very active Residential Life Program that offers a range of fun events, activities, and life skill workshops.

Satu Bumi’s Involvement

Satu Bumi was engaged by Living Landscapes to manufacture a range of Custom GRC (Glass Fibre Reinforced Concrete) planters for this project with drop down walls so that, when installed, they provide the appearance of being one continuous planter length.

All the planters were manufactured with high commercial grade GRC using Satu Bumi's CityScape technology and included an integrated charcoal pigmented finish.

Many of the planters also included imbedded ferrules to enable the post installation connection of timber benches supplied by a third party.

The installation of the planters was completed by Living Landscapes, a multi-award winning landscape construction company whose primary focus is on the provision of high quality, professionally serviced, commercial landscaping projects.

The high-quality outcome achieved with this project was highly dependent on a combination of good planning and project management by ICON Construction and the provision of professional installation services by Living Landscapes.

Therefore, Satu Bumi was proud of its involvement in terms of the manufacture and supply of the GRC planters for the project.
