Project Background

The Watergardens Town Centre is a large regional shopping centre that offers two hundred specialty stores, three large scale retailers in Target, Big W, and Woolworths as well as an entertainment precinct which includes eight restaurants, a Hoyts Cinema centre, an AMF Bowling centre, and a Laser Skirmish centre.

Watergardens Town Centre is the focal point of the community in the growing township of Taylors Lakes in Melbourne's Western Suburbs.

Constructed on a 56-hectare Greenfield site in 1997, the Town Centre is located amidst an abundance of housing estates & has become recognised as the first-choice retail destination for locals who enjoy the relaxed & friendly shopping environment.

Satu Bumi’s Involvement

Satu Bumi was engaged to manufacture a range of Custom GRC (Glass Fibre Reinforced Concrete) planters for this project with a palette of integrated pigment colour finishes. The pigment colours selected were well coordinated and included Caramel, Kalgoorlie, Sundance and Iguana pigments sourced from CCS (Concrete Colour Systems).

All the planters were manufactured with high commercial grade GRC using Satu Bumi's CityScape technology.

The installation highlights the effective use of pigmented colours in GRC planters. The colours used on this project were chosen to blend in with other parts of the overall design of the fit out.
