Project Background

Taking pride in its absolute beachfront location, in a class of its own, the Blue Bottle Apartments is a spectacular set of high-quality apartments that boast show-stopping panoramic ocean views directly opposite Woonona beach and cycleway in Wollongong, NSW.

The elegant and grand spaces designed into these apartments enhance the experience of this pure lifestyle location. Indulgent in every sense of the word from its high-end finishes, spectacular rooftop entertaining terrace, secure underground parking, and internal lift access directly into the penthouse foyer.

Epitomising the essence of a coastal dream home, this impressive apartment complex has been crafted to take full advantage of its aspect with unobstructed ocean and escarpment views stretching the coastline in both directions.

Satu Bumi’s Involvement

Satu Bumi was engaged by the Peloton Constructions to manufacture and supply thirty-three custom and standard sized GRC planters for the outside landscaping of the Blue Bottle Apartments at Beach Drive, Woonona, which is a suburb of Wollongong NSW. The planters included a mixture of square, rectangle, cylindrical, and custom waved sided shapes with an applied acid oxide finish that provided each of them with an intentional rusted steel modernistic appearance.

Peloton Constructions is a progressive construction and commercial fit out company with offices in both Sydney and Wollongong, servicing residential, public, and commercial projects.

This project displayed Satu Bumi’s ability to manufacture large, unusually shaped, custom finished, GRC planters to suite the aesthetic and function requirements of a high-end apartment project. All the planters were manufactured with high commercial grade GRC (Glass Fibre Reinforced Concrete) using Satu Bumi’s CityScape technology with a smooth pigmented finish.

This project highlighted the competence of each of the key participants particularly the architect’s ability to define the GRC planter shapes and finish to suite the design intent of this high-end project. Therefore, Satu Bumi was proud of its involvement in terms of the manufacture and supply of the customised and standard shaped GRC elements for the project.
